5 Affordable Skincare Products For Maturing Skin

It’s no secret that as we age, our skin changes and after around age 35 those changes can sometimes begin to happen rather quickly. I started a skincare routine in my late twenties/early thirties, and that has evolved as I have gotten older. I’m currently in my late thirties and I have found a comfortable routine that works for me at the moment. Today I’m sharing 5 affordable skincare products that work for me, and possibly will for you.

First up is the Glow Baby Brightening Daily Face Cleanser by Pacific Beauty. I have been using this product for close to two years, and I have been really pleased with how it works with my skin. I have normal skin (not oily, not dry), and it seems to work well to not change that or cause issue. I like that it contains vitamin C, and it goes on very smooth. It also comes in a generous size and even with washing twice daily lasts me quite some time before I need to replace it. I feel like since I have started using this product overall my skin appears brighter and I notice less blemishes. I am not acne prone, but I do tend to get pimples if I don’t have the right face wash and this has been excellent at keeping those away. It costs around $10 which is an excellent value.

Next is this Hyaluronic Acid + B5 serum by The Ordinary. This was one of the first serums I added into my skincare routine and I have noticed a difference since doing so. My fine lines appear less noticeable and my skin maintains more moisture after adding this into my routine. Hylauronic Acid is said to brighten and hydrate skin and I believe this has worked well for that purpose for me. This bottle runs around $8 and a little goes a long way. I like that the formula doesn’t feel too sticky or oily.

In combination with the hyaluronic acid, I recently added this Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% into my routine. I have been using this for a few months now and I have noticed a big difference in my skins tone and texture. My skin tone appears more even, and any bumps and blemishes have greatly reduced. It does (in my opinion) have a slight burn when I apply it to more sensitive areas of my skin but that quickly fades. I like that it does not feel greasy or sticky after drying. This is typically the last step I’ll do in my routine before adding moisturizer.

I’ve been using a derma roller on my skin for several years now and I have definitely noticed the benefits of doing so. I use this Sdara Skincare Derma Roller that I purchased on Amazon for less than $15 and I have found this to be a pretty simple step to add into my routine. I use this roller a few times a week prior to using my serums and it helps the products absorb better. Benefits of derma rolling include wrinkle and stretch mark reduction, facial rejuvenation, reduction of acne scaring and fine lines, and of course enhanced product absorption. If you’re curious about derma rolling, there are videos on youtube explaining exactly how to use this tool. It is pretty simple and doesn’t take a lot of time.

Finally, I have started using these Anti Wrinkle Facial Patches and I feel like they’ve been a good option for me. I was looking for a Botox alternative to help minimize fine lines in my forehead and between my brows and came across these. There is a more popular brand on the market that had a higher price tag then these, and after researching both I decided to give these a try. I liked that they contain rose essential oil, collagen and Vitamin E, all great things for your skin. I wear them a few times a week to sleep, and remove them in the morning. They aren’t too uncomfortable and when I wake up my face seems to have additional hydration in the areas where I’ve applied them, and it does appear smoother. Unlike Botox this is not a quick instant fix for smoothing and the results do fade as the day goes on. From what I understand though consistency is key and by using these over time they can help with things like fine lines at a slower pace. I think they’re definitely worth trying!

If you have a skincare routine, what are some products you have found that you enjoy?
